  • I really hope things would change soon. If licensed, networks like sci-fi, nor Adult Swim would be willing to pick it up?

I really somehow want to see it come to the US. Do they really have to have a cable TV deal? Can't they just release it on DVD, as well as on iTunes and anime network like they did with other anime?

  • I think Sentai Filmworks should acquire the anime Mermaid Melody Pichi Pichi Pichi. It was originally licensed and dubbed by ADV Films, but got dropped last minute before its release.

I think you should rescue the license, as well as the dub currently being held by TV Aichi. Notice while the first season was dubbed, a new dub would be needed for the second season.
The same voice actors would be used in the Sentai Filmworks Dub.

Its a shame the anime got dropped right before it was supposed to be released on DVD. After 10 years, I think its about time the anime makes it's American debut. It should be released not only on DVD, but Blu-Ray as well.

I hope this anime does make it to DVD and Blu-Ray in America, as well as online websites, such as Anime Network, itunes, and Hulu.

  • I know back when ADV Films was around, Sasha Paysinger did some voicework, but lately, she hasn't been in any recent anime lately. I think she should do some voicework for Sentai Filmworks, and possibly even Funimation and Bang zoom Entertainment.

I like to see here do some more voicework for anime.

  • But I wish they bring it back, and have it on all cable and satalite providers.

  • I know the Anime Network has on demand service on cable and satalite providers, but I think they should also have a 24/7 cable TV Channel. It would show diffrent anime, as well as some music videos, some behind the scenes extras, live convention coverage, etc. It would be avalable on nearly all cable and satalite providers, as well as Verizon Fios.

  • And just to let you know, when the anime is picked up, A new dub by Bang zoom Entertainment for the 3rd season should be done, given the First 2 seasons being dubbed in Southern california by voice actors that typically work for bang Zoom entertainment and PCB productions.

  • I really wish that To Love Ru would get a dub in 2013 or if not, maybe 2014.

I would really like to see Sentai Filmworks rival Funimation as far as anime dubs go.

  • I'm sorry about this. But its something I just don't get. I keep thinking about it, and when you translate a script for an anime, wouldn't the singing be part of the script? I mean you translate the script, then from the translation, the english voice actor reads the translation. For the songs in the script with the written lyrics, the voice actor first listens to the song in japanese to know what the tune is, then the English voice actor just sings the lyrics to the tune. How does funimation do it? And i'm concerned if there was an episode that was musical or operatic, the episode may only be half dubbed, or 1/4 dubbed.

I'm again very sorry about bringing this up again. I know I have autism, and I'm just concerned. If I was a licensing manager, I run things my way.

  • I find it weird that everytime an anime character sings in a dub, from when they start to when they stop singing, it goes fron the english voice actor to the japansese voice actor. This even happens for accapela, and for even singing a couple of lines. Don't know why they can't just dub it the way the anime is dubbed. I mean they can sub the words, but why can't the english voice actor sing it in english (such as the song being part of the script). I know Funimation dubs lines that are sung. And I know in a scene in episode 10 of EF a tale of Melodies, there was some singing by two characters that was dubbed (eventhough it was a Sentai Filmworks anime). I just watched the first episode of Horizon In The Middle of nowhere, and that opening scene where P-01s sings a song acapela, it is done by the japanese voice actor in japanese.

Basically, if there was ever an episode of a dubbed anime that was operatic, the episode would be sub only, or in terms of an episode being a musical, only half dubbed.

I would never hear the singing voice of the english voice actors.

  • I know that Brittney Marie Karbowski has starred in almost all Senati filmworks and Funimation anime that is released.

I think that Cynthia Martiniz should star in more anime, not just Sentai filmworks, but she should do voicework for Funimation as well. I know that nearly half the voice actors for Sentai filmworks also work for Funimation because both companies are located in Texas.

    I hope this could happen

  • This seems to be a running gag in anime. A boy somehow accidently stumbles upon seeying a girl or grls naked, and no matter if it was on purpose or by acident, the girls always react volently, and beat up the boys untill they are unconscious. So if a boy was with a girl, and somehow, the girl's clothes come off, then the boy just had back luck, as he is about to be beaten up.

Why in anime do girls have to react violently, and beat up boys if a boy has saw them naked, or their bras and panties? This doesn't happen in real life.

  • spaceshotx7 created a new topic Is anime in America dying? in the forum.
Hi. I feel anime in America is starting to fade.

From 2000-2007, there was a golden age of anime, where there were multiple distributers and licensors licensing and dubbing anime by different studios.

Now there are very few licensors, and not as much anime getting licensed, and even less dubs. and about 80-90% of anime dubs these days are done by the dubbing studios in Texas, with 60% done by Funimation, and 40% done by Seraphim Digital. Then 4 or fewer anime a year is dubbed by Bang Zoom Enertainment in California. The new York City based dubbing studios aren't really doing any dubs, except for mostly Pokemon, and Ocean Studios is now only producing dubs for childrens shows for Canadian Audiences.

What is going on here? I want to see various anime licensors aquire more anime, and to see more dubs being produced by various dubbing studios. What about the money they are making?
