Grats Coffee God! Now you should be called the Posting Coffee God!
Well, I started Chemistry.com. There is someone out there that I can make happy and that will not make me miserable. Perhaps I will meet Ms. Right, or perhaps Ms. Right now.... OUCH! When did my conscience get a hold of that baseball bat?
Anyways, random thought of the day. This is what I would have a somewhat modern war game.
What if say by 2018, the U.S.A. has finally figured out how to do Fusion energy. And by that time, the U.S.A. has pulled out from several world areas and has gone into a slightly more isolationist stance in order to rebuild its economy and infrastructure. Though it maintains close ties to several allies, the U.S. presence is not as strong as it used to be.
Filling that role in some areas is Russia and China. Both powers want to take lead roles in the place of the U.S. Now that the U.S. has greatly cut its oil consumption, the middle east is left up for grabs in several areas. Fusion energy is tricking and expensive at first, so these areas are still valuable.
The game would take place during an escalation between China and Russia over India and Pakistan. Other nations drawn into the conflict would be North Korea, Iran, some of the other middle east nations. The U.S. gets involved once South Korea, Japan, and Israel are threatened by both sides. Will peace be restored, will the world be destroyed, or will there be one to rule them all? The game should have multiple endings and multiple sides to play on.
