The official website for the ongoing Maria Holic Alive television anime series unveiled a music video for voice actress Yu Kobayashi's opening theme song "Runrunriru Ranranrara." (In the linked page, select the pink banner that reads---) According the production company Media Factory, this is the first computer-animated music video of Kobayashi. Media Factory is streaming a 116-second broadcast version of the music video:
The music video, made to celebrate Children's Day (May 5) and this year's Golden Week holidays, is set in a world of pigs and humans called "Runrunriru Ranranrara Land." It features a super-deformed, dancing and singing version of Kobayashi as well as an alter-ego named "Lady Yu." Kobayashi's pig companion Menchi-san, the Mr. Pig band members Roasun and Porkun, and several pig dancers filll out the cast.
The video will run on a giant streetside screen in Shibuya's Miyamasuzaka-shita shopping area during the 5:00-5:30 p.m. timeslot from May 9 to May 13 and again from May 16 to May 20. The limited and regular editions for the song's maxi-single CD will go on sale in Japan on May 25.
While it would be pretty cool if Sentai picked it up, given that both shows are SHAFT series and Ume Aoki did the character designs on PMMM, I just see it as SHAFT being SHAFT. They like having their characters making brief cameos on their other shows.
For ex., Hidamari Sketch has brief cameos by characters from Pani Poni Dash and Sayonara Zetsobo Sensei.
