I am one of probably a great thousand people, whom while love this show, and are thankful a place like this has it available legally. Cannot stand the subs. This is... not how sub watchers are used to watching a show.
Those little yellow subs are definitely below par. Which means this isn't a good alternative to those illegal fansubs people out there enjoy. It is in terms of legality, but not quality.
I was very excited to watch this show at first, but dropped it for at least a whole week because of how much of an eyesore the subs were. I don't know how the other shows are, but this makes Anime Network hard to use for at least this show. I hope this doesn't get me banned or ostracized, because it rather needed to be said...
I would happily pay per month to watch new anime like this because I prefer to watch new anime seasons when they come out. It's exciting to keep up with the times and watch new episodes of new anime as soon as possible. I can't get Japanese satellite where I live so things like this are the only way to do it legally. But I wouldn't want to do it with subs like this. I'm sorry, and a bit nervous, to say this, the Administator is right up above me. Somewhat expecting the "ban hammer".
The yellow sub format used here is pretty much the R1 industry standard across the board. It's either yellow or white. Some places did use other colors ,but it's very rare. Yellow usually does not mix with the backround so it's why it's used most of the time. Funimation tends to use white ,but it more tends to blend with White things in Animation . Doubt it will change anytime soon as it's been that way since back in the VHS days. There was someone that used bright neon green back then which was horrible on the eyes. I used to see green words for days.
